I'm in need of some assistance. I have successfully downloaded the new launcher and created the profiles I needed, however every time I press 'Play', Minecraft quits unexpectedly. This happens for any version I try to use, whether it be 1.6, 1.5.2 or 1.5.1. It gives me the message in a different window and says

Minecraft quit enexpectedly while using the liblwjgl.jnilib plug-in. After checking it out further on some different websites I've come to believe that this is because of Minecraft's class path.

This is what the problem report said. I'll only give the part I think is relevant and I'm replacing the users name with *.

I'm not fully sure how to fix the issue and the reports that have come out are in versions of Java that are not what I use. I would appreciate some insight on why this is happening and if possible how to fix it. The specs for the Mac and Java are below. If any more information is needed let me know, this is my first time using a forums for these problems. Thanks!

*I'm next to sure this is a 2008 Macbook, Version: Mac OS X 10.6.8.
*I also run both 32-bit and 64-bit Java SE 6.

It happens with me, too.
And I have an amazing state-of-the art Mac.
I've found that closing the launcher and reopening it eventually gets it to start, you should try that.

I tried it today for the first time in nearly 7 months (I gave up sometime in August with no success in the matter) by redownloading the launcher (after copying over my saves files) and it works. I have no idea why or how (maybe 1.7+?). Thanks guys!

Well at least your problem has been solved (even if we don't know how)! :)
